The Story
The year is 2679 and the solar system is engulfed in an uneasy standoff between four factions on four separate planets, each vying for supremacy and survival.
Earth-3 (Earth)
After the total governmental and societal collapse brought about by successive world wars, the race of Earthlings inhabit a dystopian hellscape in which the strong prey upon the weak, and all must fend for themselves.
The planet is rich in minerals and resources that form the basis of the constant struggles for control. Those who visit Earth-3 from other planets can expect an unfriendly welcome, whether they come in peace, or to try their luck at obtaining a portion of the planet’s bountiful natural reserves.
Venus
The solar system’s center of civilization is inhabited by the so-called Luxitori or “Men of Light”, descendants of a mysterious race of inter-dimensional beings whose civilization is partly preserved in the culture, customs, and architecture of their society, which they call the New Republic.
A peaceful race, the inhabitants plan to increase their influence over the Solar System, wherever possible via diplomacy and trade. Despite an efficient and structured approach to mining, the natural reserves of the planet are limited, meaning that growing one’s resources and inventory can be a slower process.
Mangala-Y (Mars)
The Mangalese are a warlike race, descended in part from the original Earthling colonists and in part from successive waves of invaders from other planets. While they prize loyalty, they are quick to anger and it is common for internecine feuds to break out and turn former comrades against one another.
The planet is rich in minerals and materials for shipbuilding, but lacking in the wherewithal to build complex structures (e.g. space stations), and with limited access to fuel resources. This means that Mangalese are prone to sustain themselves by conducting raids on other factions and planets.
Jove Echo (Jupiter)
The Nubi are a cyborg race who inhabit the upper atmosphere in a sophisticated web of aerial settlements using technology from their original home planet (unknown). As a species, they preserve absolute order and are unhesitant in sacrificing themselves and others to sustain and further the aims of their society.
They enjoy a high degree of resources, including fuel, and control more space stations than any other planet, hence are highly involved in commerce. Their weakness is in combat, and they are particularly vulnerable when traveling between planets owing to their comparative inability to build weapons and armor for their ships.
New players must pick a faction to join and begin their journey. As the game progresses, more planets in other solar systems will be discovered, and join in the game.
